Dr. Lester excelled while attending dental school and graduated with the highest honors.  Dr. Lester received Dental Benefits Scholarships for both excellent academic and clinical performance, was selected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and received The Dean’s Award for academic and clinical excellence while attending Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Being a private family practitioner was always his goal and he is honored to have the opportunity to work along side Dr. Heacox.

Dr. Lester has a passion for dentistry, as well as a passion for caring.  In order to ensure the best dentistry for his patients, Dr. Lester invests in a great amount of continuing education.  He is constantly learning new techniques and researching technological advancements in the field of dentistry so he can better treat his patients.  Dr. Lester is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Pierce County Dental Society and the Spear Education Institute.

Dr. Lester has a special interest in reaching out to people that lack access to dental care and educating the public on the importance of oral health.  He has participated in the Guatemala Awareness Program (GAP) whose mission is to provide dental care to the Guatemalan people. Each year GAP travels to remote cities in Guatemala to provide dental services to people in need. As a member of the Gig Harbor Rotary Club, Dr. Lester is able to support world-wide healthcare initiatives as well as local community programs.

Coming from two generations of business owners in Gig Harbor (Finholm and Lester), Dr. Lester is excited for the opportunity to give back to the community that has given so much to his family over the years. He is an avid golfer, snowboarder and soccer player. He and his wife Amy began dating their freshman year at Gig Harbor High School, attended college together and got married ten years later. They reside in Gig Harbor with their three children.

Dr. Robert E. Heacox (referred to as Dr. Bob by patients and staff) has been practicing dentistry in the Puget Sound area for more than 40 years, including the past 20 years at his current location in Gig Harbor.  Dr. Bob graduated from Stadium High School in 1961, and then earned a degree in Psychology from Washington State University in 1966.  He then went on to pursue his dental education at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1970.

Dr. Bob has been an associate clinical professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry for many years.  He is dedicated to continuing his education in dentistry throughout his career and has spent thousands of hours attending postgraduate education courses all over the country to further his dental education and to remain up to date with all of the latest advancements in dentistry.

Dr. Bob is an active member of the Gig Harbor Rotary Club and enjoys being involved in the community.  He has spent countless hours throughout his dental career volunteering his time at the Smile Mobile and at the local dental assisting schools. Dr. Bob has many hobbies but he spends most of his free time rowing on the bay. He competes each year at the Head of the Charles in Boston, The Head of the Lake in Seattle and other races on the west coast. He recently placed first in his age group at the 2014 Head of the Lake in Seattle.

Dr. Bob and his wife raised their four daughters in Gig Harbor.  Each daughter continues to live in the Puget Sound area.  He and his wife are happy grandparents to nine beautiful grandchildren and are excited for more to come.
